The Book of Toro is a continuation of the brilliant “Wild Toro” game that launched ELK Studios into the hearts of all slot lovers. This is the second edition of ELKs Wild Toro World Tour that has been released to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the original game Wild Toro.
Set with an Egyptian theme, the Book of Toro follows Toro and Matador (Captain Diaz) to Egypt in a quest to find this epic book. For all the fans of the first games, the familiar “Maria, Porque?” still cries out, which creates an instant bond. Clever!
Treasures adorn the background, and all of the symbols have a crypt/pyramid-style feel to them. The background music is fantastic and gets better the more you win. Bag the scatter-free spins and your headphones are filled with a brilliant soundtrack that could have been straight out of a film set.
The very talented Elk Studios have created a beast in the Book of Toro that makes you want to play all day long. The graphics are great and the “walking wild” card brings a smile to your face with its cheeky dance across the screen. During Toro Goes wild, all book symbols are sticky. This adds to the chances of bagging enough for the free spins.
The safer gambling element is missing in this game, and the auto-play is limited. You can’t control your losses, but you can work out how much you could be down at the end of the run. It’s not a good way of keeping track of what you spend in a game.
Elk Studios create games that are packed full of colour and character, with soundtracks that make you want to listen. Everything that they do has entertainment at the forefront, with the gambling element following. That sounds like a bad thing, but it isn’t. All their games are designed to engage the player, and that’s exactly what they do. Another book by Elk Studio is the fabulously entertaining Book of Sam.
The Book of Toro has all the classic Book of… Bonus options and then some. Spin and drop three or more scatter symbols and the Free Spins feature is triggered. You are then taken to the actual Book of Toro which reveals your Bonus symbol, and the spins begin. You start with 10 free spins.
Prizes in this game are generous enough, especially if you land one of the Walking Wilds, or the Mummy respins. That said, it took us a long time to trigger the free spins through the Book scatter symbols, but when we did the pot just opened up and the funds were well worth the wait.
There is no gamble feature in this game, just good old-fashioned reels and spins with fabulous graphics and a great soundtrack.
