Welcome to a fog-bound steampunk-styled Victorian London in 1×2 Gaming’s fabled Sherlock’s Casebook. A tasty five-reel, 25-payline slot features 13 paytable symbols, including special character symbols of Irene Adler (from a Scandal in Bohemia), Dr Watson, and Sherlock Holmes himself.

What’s not to like? A Sherlock Holmes expanding wild and a Dr. Watson sticky wild in the free spins with tasty background graphics to enjoy. Probably not what Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had in mind when he created the fictional (yes fictional) character back in 1887 with his first Holmes adventure A Study in Scarlet, but Holmes is the most popular fictional character ever created, so it’s easy to see why 1×2 Gaming would want to immortalize Holmes in a slot reel game.

Unfortunately, this slot game isn’t as exciting as reading a Sherlock Holmes novel, or as exciting as some of the other brilliant Book of… games from 1×2 Gaming, but this is a game worth playing. The theme is brilliant, and the graphics are tastefully done, with just enough pizazz to keep you entertained. Sadly, no mystery to solve, just a well-thought-through game.

Getting to the Free Spins part (dropping 3 Irene Adler symbols) is about as difficult to get as catching Professor Moriarty, but well worth the effort because this game picks up in Free Spin mode. You get 10 Free spins, and they are generous. The music is fabulous, and the graphics improve too, not to mention the Bonus cash. Dr Watson as a sticky is well worth the wait.

Sadly, it’s short-lived and you go back to the less entertaining normal rounds. That said, land a few Sherlock expanding symbols on your spin, and the game picks up. I managed to bag some serious cash off the back of Mr Holmes. Obviously, luck plays its part, but this is a game that doesn’t payout as well as others do, but when it does, it’s pretty good.

Will this be my go-to game?

NO, but it was fun and I managed to walk away with more than I started with, which makes me eager to see how other Book of… games fair in the brilliantly talented 1×2 Gaming store. Other Book of Games… include the Book of Merlin, Book of Loki, and the fabulous Van Helsing’s Book of the Undead.

Safer Gambling

Safer gambling is on the rise and the latest feature to hit 1×2 Gaming slots is the very clever loss limiter. This is a new way of controlling your losses. Set your loss limit in the settings and the game will stop if/when you hit that amount. This doesn’t stop you from losing, but it does help control your money flow. It’s a cool way of keeping track of what you spend in a game.

Bonus Feature
