The graphics might not be the stuff of Hollywood movies, but the theme is great (not Egyptian), and the background track is great. SO, buckle up for a Book of… game packed full of magic mixed with mystic wins from a world of twilight.

The expanding Enchantress during normal gameplay is a great addition to the game giving it a little more depth than you’d usually get from a Book of… game. That said, the wins in this game seem to be few and far between to make it a truly epic edition. Obviously, luck plays its part here, but it took me a staggering 14 spins before I bagged my first win. Even then it wasn’t big enough to make up what I’d played.

Then I bagged three scatter symbols and the Bonus round kicked in. The graphics picked up and the soundtracked changed a beat as the pots started to fall. It wasn’t my best win ever, but it seriously made up the shortfall of the normal rounds. Sadly, those 10 Free spins zip past all too fast.

Is it a “go-to” game?

Probably not, but I liked this game more than I thought I was going to. The pots were not as thick and fast as other games I’ve played, but that didn’t really matter. It’s a fun game with a great theme.  Other Book of… Games include Jack Potter & the Book of Nubia, Jack Potter & the Book of Dynasties 6, Jack Potter & the Book of Dynasties and the Black Book of Pirates.

Safer Gambling

Safer gambling in this Book of… game is good with a very clever loss limiter. This is a new way of controlling your losses and controlling your play. Set your loss limit in the autoplay mode and the game will stop if/when you hit that amount. This doesn’t stop you from losing, but it does help control your money flow. It’s a cool way of keeping track of what you spend in a game.

Bonus Feature

The Warlock’s Book by Apparat Gaming is a basic version of all Book of…series of books, with all the classic Book of… Bonus options. Spin and drop three or more scatter symbols and the Free Spins feature is triggered. You are then taken to the actual casebook where your 10 free spins start instantly.

Prizes in this game are not as generous as others, but the free spins usually land decent-sized pots. There is no gamble feature in this game, just good old-fashioned reels and spins.

Conclusion

There is a lot to like about The Warlock’s Book, not least that it isn’t a treasure-hunting game set in an endless Egyptian tomb. Cleaver graphics and a fabulous soundtrack make this a very playable game. It won’t make my all-time top ten, then again, I’ve played this game more than most in my top ten, so maybe I need a re-think?
