One of the finest Book of… games to come from the brilliant Spearhead Studios family is the Book of Souls. A heady mixture of Indiana Jones movies meets Tomb Raider on a Playstation from the 90’s. Even the main character Lara Jones is obviously the love child of Indie and Miss Croft.

The Book of Souls looks like a basic Book of… game, but there is a difference. This is beautifully designed, with a great graphics package that includes some cool animation, and a background vibe that makes you want to crank up your headphones and chill.

As with all Spearhead Studios games, the graphics are brilliant and there is an instant recognition of Lara Jones and a tiki temple on a quest to discover the golden riches hidden inside an ancient Mayan tomb. The snake’s bonus round is great too, though not always generous.  

The safer gambling element is missing in this game. That said, the auto-play option on the game we played was disabled, so you are in total control. Obviously, you can’t control your losses, but you can rethink before every click.

Prizes in this game are generous, but it took us a while to trigger all three books. Once we did, the pots seemed to drop into place one after the other. Not the biggest Bonus round pot we’ve cashed in on, but well worth the wait.
