If you’ve played the Blue Diamond Book, then you’ll love the better version of that game, the Book of the Princess. Essentially this is the same book remastered with different graphics, though the characters and symbols are the same. This is the more engaging version of the Book and an all-round better option in our opinion.
There is much more to this game, with gamble features and better play options. The soundtrack is improved too, but not by much. This is still a background theme tune rather than something that can be defined as a soundtrack.
The safer gambling element is missing in this game, and the auto-play is limited. You can’t control your losses, but you can work out how much you could be done at the end of the run. It’s not a good way of keeping track of what you spend in a game.
Spearhead Studios are massive. Not just in the size of what they do, but in what they bring to the iGaming world of slots. Part of the EveryMatrix group, Spearhead have added some memorable games to the fabulous list of Book of… series of games, including Blue Diamond Book, Book of Spies Mission X, Book of Souls Remastered, Book of Souls II El Dorado and the Book of the King.
The Book of the Princess is built around the classic scatter symbols that you’d normally get with any Book of… slot. Three triggers the Bonus spins and you are then taken to the actual Princess‘s Book which reveals your Bonus symbol, and the spins begin. You start with 10 free spins.
Prizes in this game are not the biggest we’ve come across, but they are generous, including the bonus rounds. That said, it took us a few coins to trigger the free spins through the Book scatter symbols, but the wait was worth it. Prizes in this game are generous enough that you don’t need to buy the Buy Bonus option.
There is more than one option on the gamble feature in this game. Either you go for the classic “higher or lower” ladder, or you can half your win/gamble. The interesting part about the gamble feature is that you don’t just drop to nothing. The idea behind the ladder is that your progress is in stages of the ladder. That leaves you the option of backing out and only risk a little at a time. Clever. The rest is just good old-fashioned reels and spins with good graphics and an OK soundtrack.
