Game Review
Like most things that Novomatic do, the Book of China is just about as good as it gets, even to the point that Novomatic summed it up in their opening statement about the game, “He, that guards ancient Chinese treasures can be lured with the Book of China”.
Very poetic from the producer of a seriously good game to play. China and in this case the Book of… is very well represented and put together is a very appealing game that has probably the best background track of any Book game. It might not make your top ten, but there is serious consideration to add the Book of China to your play and repeat list.
Is the Book of China a “go-to” game?
A sad no! I’d like this game to be better than it is, but it isn’t unique enough to make me add this to my “go-to” list. The Book of China offers great graphics and solid game-play mechanics that are worthy of the Book of… selection of games, but it needs something extra to make it stand out.
