Dracula is a popular figure for a slot game, and the Book of Blood is all about the Prince of Darkness, the bloodthirsty Count Dracula. Set in the backdrop of medieval Transylvania this book takes you on an eerie journey through darkness. All the usual paraphernalia that follows Vampires are in this game, so expect coffins, bats, and a goblet of blood or two.
This game comes from the brilliance that is NetGaming. Their obsession with beautiful game design takes you on a Transylvanian spook trip that might leave you screaming the house down. Not, in a spooky “I can’t watch” kind of way, but from mild frustration that this game isn’t as awesome as it should be.
NetGaming has some fantastic games in their slots arsenal, but this one might just get overlooked by others. That said, the graphics are good, and the soundtrack is cool. Take time to look through their other games list to see what they really can offer an enthusiastic slot player.
Avoid the Buy Bonus feature that this game offers. It guarantees you three Book of … Scatter symbols, but it comes at a cost, and your extra spins win does not always cover the added cost. We played the Buy Bonus round seven times and only managed to win back our stake plus interest twice. Even then we only managed that because we bagged extra spins. Obviously, it’s random, so you might get seven out of seven mega pots, but that seems a little unlikely.
The safer gambling element is missing in this game, with the only option of control being in the “auto-play” settings, which it explains exactly what it will cost you if you opt for the auto-spin play. This won’t control your losses, but it will stop you once you have hit the set amount of spins. It’s a good way of keeping track of what you spend in a game.
The Book of Blood has all the classic Book of… Bonus options. Spin and drop three or more scatter symbols and the Free Spins feature is triggered. You are then taken to the actual Book of Blood which reveals your Bonus symbol, and the spins begin. You start with 10 free spins.
Prizes in this game are generous enough that you don’t need to buy the Buy Bonus option. Plus, the extra reel in the spins option pays out often enough.
There is no gamble feature in this game, just good old-fashioned reels and spins.
