The Book of Bruno isn’t as engaging as the Book card makes it out to be, but there is something about the simplicity of this game that makes it a slot favourite. If we gloss over the “Robert De Niro” looking character in this game and look at what’s what, you’ll find a basic level Book game that has virtually no sound and very little in the way of game entertainment. Until that is, you start to drop some wins.
Once the winning starts, this game starts to come alive. Not the full-on live play that we’re used to from Book games, but more alive than the first handful of winless spins. Drop into Free Spins mode and this turns into a different game. Plus, you can gamble all your winnings, including the Free Spins win. Not sure if that’s a good thing, but it worked for me, so I approve 🙂
The Book of Bruno could be so much more than it is, yet Fazi have left this as a semi-noire style Book that won’t appeal to everyone.
Is the Book of Bruno a “go-to” game?
An awkward no! I’d like this game to be better than it is, but it isn’t unique enough to make me add this to my “go-to” list. The Book of Bruno offers great graphics and solid game play mechanics that are worthy of the Book of… selection of games, but it needs that something extra to make it stand out.
