I love the opening line to this game, “Welcome to Relic Hunters and the Book of Faith”, spoken in a dark husky voice. Then the ancient Egyptian background music entices you in. Yes, this is another mummy fest for the eyes, but this game really is different from all the others we’ve had so far.
Rich Wilde is a close similarity with this game, but the Relic Hunters version has way more going on. I hate to admit it, but Relic Hunters and the Book of Faith isn’t all about the win. This is a brilliantly entertaining game that totally captivates you into watching what happens next. Even if what happens next is you not winning.
The graphics are fabulous, and the animation (when it happens) is well done. Every corner of this game offers something to look out for, which is rare. Normally all the action happens in the reels. Not this game. The negative side to that is that there is so much happening that sometimes when you win, you have no idea why. OK nice problems to have, but it does take a lot of getting used to.
Everything about this game works. Wazdan has re-invented the Book of… series of games, and it’s exactly what we have been waiting for. The theme is one we’ve seen many times over, but never like this.
The safer gambling element in this game is pretty good with lots of options. You can control the Volatility, and the speed of spins and you can set the number of spins on auto-mode. In this game, the auto-mode comes with a variety of options that are designed to give you more control.

The Relic Hunters and the Book of Faith is built around the classic scatter symbols that you’d normally get with any Book of… slot. However, there are multiple elements added which make this game unique. Regardless of how many scatter symbols you bag (after 3), the spins stay at 10 Free spins, but there is a difference to your starting prize pot.
I managed to get 4 scatter symbols, then 5 and then 6, which I have never managed in any game before. The expanding Bonus symbol never really worked for me in any game, but the “Walking Wilds” paid out nicely.
Pyramid Exploration Bonus
The Pyramid Exploration Bonus happens when you light all the time rubies in the top left of the game. This takes you to a 4-level pick-and-click game. A nice little add-on.
Bastet Spins
The fabulous Bastet Spins are activated when the Cat Statue icon in the top left gives you 5 Free spins in which 5 randomly distributed wilds overlay other symbols. Can be lucrative if you land the right symbols.
Prizes in this game are not massive, and to be honest, I struggled to bag anything worthy of an epic or even a big win. I tried this game on all three volatility levels and the results were the same. Obviously, it all depends on your stake, and luck, as this, is a random feature. None of that mattered because this was worth playing just for the entertainment factor that this game offered.
Gamble Feature
“Choose a statue” is the opening line to a very basic, yet fabulously disguised gamble feature. This is just a humble 50/50 gamble feature that has been made to fit in perfectly with this game. Obviously, luck is the main component here. The rest is just a good old-fashioned spin-to-win action. The Gamble feature doesn’t work when you are in auto-spin mode.
There is also an option to “control” the volatility of the game. This is displayed as three chilies just above the + button. Three chilies being High Volatility, one being the lowest.
Conclusion
The Relic Hunters edition of the Book of Faith is another mummy fest for the eyes, but this game really is a cut above the rest. The introduction alone is worthy of your time, “Welcome to Relic Hunters and the Book of Faith”, in that dark husky voice that sucks you in. The graphics are fabulous, and the animation is great, making this a game that you’re happy to watch as well as play. Rare in a Book game concept.
The negative side to this game, if there is one, is that there’s so much going on, that when you win, you have no idea why. OK nice problems to have, but it does take a lot of getting used to. The other Book of Faith is the fabulous Book of Faith Collect to Infinity.
