Game Content

The Book of Gods by the brilliant Big Time Gaming is a real hoot when it comes to pots, prizes and drop features. That’s before you get to the fabulous extra Book symbol bonus and the scatter symbols that award free spins.

BTG’s Book of Gods features a seriously generous 243 Ways to Win format, that presents players with plenty of ways to win decent-sized pots. This game has so much to watch that the entertainment factor alone will keep you coming back for more.

The graphics and sound are really good. Everything about this game is different, the images are Egyptian, yet they’re not the norm. OK, nothing is “mind-blowing”, but they get extra points for being clever. Even the game characters are “different” and truer to mythology than the normal Egyptian-themed games that we are used to. Still, credit where credit is due, if you are stuck on the idea of an Egyptian-themed game that really has been plugged to death, then making the main game figures and symbols different is clever. Adding 243 paylines to the game is better yet.

There is a safer gambling element to this game that keeps you on the straight and narrow. It’s not perfect, but having a spin limiter and a loss limiter working in cohesion to reduce your losses is a serious step in the right direction. The rest is a good old-fashioned manual click option. Which is good with me. What better way to control your game than a little willpower and an urge to play something else.

Bonus Feature

Free Spins

The Book of Gods is built around the classic scatter symbols that you’d normally get with any Book of… slot. Bag a minimum of three scatter symbols to trigger your 10 Free spins Bonus round.

The jackpots and wins on this game are well worth a play, and seriously plenty full. The 243 paylines might have something to do with that. My wins in this game weren’t earth-shattering, but there were plenty of tasty little ones to keep me happy.

Gamble Feature

There is no gamble feature on this game, but there is a Buy feature that lets you “cheat” the scatter symbol system into letting you buy free spins (not Free if you buy them). Not worth the effort, unless you can collect enough of the Drop Feature coins, which lowers your buy-in amount, and even then it’s still not worth playing. I played this option a few times and never managed to win back what it costs me for the 15 Free spins.

Avoid the Turbo mode too. All that does is suck the fun and funds out of the game. Best to leave well alone.
