Game Content
Book of Doom from Belatra Games isn’t what it seems. Yes, it’s another Tomb-based video slot game, and yes it’s a basic 3x5x10 setup, but there is a depth to this game that’s hard to explain, and I think it could have something to do with the soundtrack.
Odd that the best part about this game is the music. Seriously, I played this game for about 15 minutes before I could wrap my head around how much the music sounded (when winning) like an extract from a soft techno gig. More DJ spacey than Egyptian.
The rest of the game is “so-so”. OK graphics and an entertaining game that has all the features you’d want from a Book of… slot game. There is a Go-Faster button (avoid), and a go even faster button, which does nothing for the game. Then there is the “Buy a Bonus” feature which allows you to cut straight to the Free Spins part. All at a cost. This is not worth the cost of entry.
The problem with the Buy Bonus is that it will cost you more than you will win. Obviously, there is a chance that you could win more, but it’s unlikely, especially given that there is a “Risk” option at the end of your Free spins round.
The Risk Option is a good old-fashioned Red or Black card game that doubles your win or eats it. Again, luck plays a major role in this as there are no, repeat no win patterns to this game. Just good old-fashioned guesswork.
Jackpot “Wheel of Fortune”
As an added Bonus in the Book of Doom, there is an extra Jackpot Wheel of Fortune game. You need to meet certain conditions (like playing at an increased rate), but every player can participate. It’s easy to play and automatic. Each bet made will bring the player a certain amount of special JP points, which, having accumulated the required amount the game is launched.
The safer gambling element to this game is good, with everything selected through autospin mode. Once there you have a number of options that include Balance increase/decrease, Stop before/after function, and good old-fashioned autospin function of 10 up to 100 spins. This game also has a Turbo and Super Turbo mode, which eats your pot like a hungry hippo. Best avoid and enjoy the game at normal speed.

Summing up this game is easy. It’s a playable game that you probably won’t add to your top ten list. That said, I loved this game, probably because I had a massive winning streak, and I bagged the biggest naturally aspiring Free Spin round that I have ever played. The spins kept coming and the finishing pot (which I didn’t gamble) was epic to say the least. The DJ-inspired background track kept me playing longer than I should have. What more do you need?
This game is based around the classic scatter symbols that you’d normally get with any Book of… slot. Bag a minimum of three scatter symbols to trigger your 10 Free spins Bonus round. Respin option is a great addition to this game.

The gamble feature is called “Risk”, and with good reason. It’s a simple Red or Black choice that is a fun option on smaller wins. Avoid the go faster and turbo go faster buttons, they just eat away at your funds and take all the enjoyment out of the game.
