Who knew Santa was a Viking?? The Book of Christmas Eve by the brilliantly talented Nucleus Gaming is the best seasonal-inspired game we’ve played yet. Christmas will never be the same again.
The main character in this game looks like Ragnar Lothbrok dressed as Santa. “Oh look, it’s Santa with an axe, let’s not get on his naughty list”. Chilling and captivating with a brilliant not-for-kids vibe. Add to that the Axes, bauble bombs, demon-style Snowmen, and a Northman-style soundtrack, and this game is set to go. A great take on a classic tale that looks like it is set in the “not for tourists” part of Lapland.
This game offers a “Buy” feature where you can shortcut your way to 10 Free spins. Normally we’d say avoid at all costs, but this one seemed to work every time of asking. Obviously, we needed to test it, so we started on a lowish stake game (.70€) game, which cost a €45 buy-in, and on the first set of 10 spins, we dropped €245. Thinking this was just a fluke, we played on and tried the same again and worked away with 67€ win.
Not to be deterred, we tested the buy feature on a higher stake of €3 which cost €196 for 10 Free spins. Surprise surprise, we bagged a respectful €232 win. Obviously, luck played its part, but this is the first game we have played where the buy feature has worked every time.
The safer gambling element of this game is limited to an autoplay function. That said, there is a handy number of spins + spins cost = total cost display. The rest is good old-fashioned dose of self-restraint. There is a Turbo feature too, but this just sucks all the fun out of the game.
