The brilliant Yggdrasil has done it again with the eagerly awaited Book of Books. In this Book of… game, the order of the Peregrin hides under the robes of musicians and minstrels. They guard the biggest secret known to man, which just happens to be the Book of Books. Said to be the “Father of all books” and the source of all power and wealth.
As we know, wealth is relative in gambling, what counts is the high volatility Video Slot with expanding symbols. All you need to do is collect the Book feature to power up your free spins game with up to 10 expanding symbols, up to a 5×5 panel, and 40 paylines, powerups and retriggers.
Having bigged up the Book of Books and the diversity of Yggdrasil Gaming, I feel that there might be an apology due. NOT, that Yggdrasil gaming isn’t one of the most talented game developers for the iGaming and Gambling world, because they are. Nor that they really don’t have a diverse group of players that range from Tomb-based games to Lucky Leprechauns, because that part is true too. But, and it’s sizable but, the Book of Books might just be a diverse group too far.
Yggdrasil is in cahoots with Peter & Sons Games, which might explain the slight graphical diversion that this game seems to have taken. What looks like a seriously basic and rudimentary game is exactly that. It looks basic and it plays basic. Oh and the background track isn’t right for this game, but, that does not mean that this game shouldn’t be played.
Here’s the thing, even though I hated this game as soon as I pressed play, the basic look and feel of the game sort of relaxed me, which meant that I concentrated on what was going on. Unusual in a slot game, but I started to notice the quality that ran through this game, not to mention the sizable pots that I was bagging. Luck obviously, but fun while it lasted.
There is no safer gambling element to this game other than the manual click-and-play. There is an extended autospin function, but the rest is good old-fashioned self-control.
Peter & Sons Games. Let me start by saying that there is an audience for that. P&S Gaming is not what you normally expect a slot game producer to look like. Firstly, none of their games would look out of place on the Cartoon Network channel, yet they are all gambling themed. Secondly, they all more or less look like they are part of the same story, but they are not. What they are is individual to every other games provider that we have seen. The fact that they are working with the awesomely talented Yggdrasil Gaming is proof enough of just how good Peter & Sons Games is.
Yaggdrasil Games. Few Game providers catch the imagination better than the endlessly talented Yggdrasil does when it comes to state-of-the-art games. Although entertainment is at the heart of their strategy, artistic grace and technological freedom play a major role in shaping their games. What the diversity of their players expect is apparent in the Book Hotfire and the Jungle Books.
The Book of Books might put a few players off just by the fact that it looks a little basic, but this game really is worth a go. The graphics leave a little to the imagination, but the whole feel of this game makes it a potential hit. Assuming that is, this is the sort of game that you play.
This game is based around the classic scatter symbols that you’d normally get with any Book of… slot. Bag a minimum of three scatter symbols to trigger your 10 Free spins Bonus round.
There is no gamble feature in this game.
