If I had to describe the Book of Bamboo video slot by Onlyplay in just a few words, they’d be “instant tranquillity” or very Zen-like. Yes the cover looks like it could be harboring a 90’s Vietnam War movie, but this Book is so far removed from anything war-like or angry, it’s positively lovely.

The Book of Bamboo by Onlyplay is a really enjoyable game with fabulous graphics throughout and a lovely relaxing feeling that makes you want to play more. The payouts are not as forthcoming as other games, but as long as you keep your pots low, it won’t matter.

The animation in the Bonus “free spins” round is great. A screen filled with beautifully coloured Cherry Blossoms and an upbeat soundtrack is exactly what you want. The actual win part wasn’t epic for me, but I got out more than it cost me to play, so that’s a good thing. Obviously, luck as always, plays its part, but every time I bagged the freebie round, it turn into a nice little earner. Not so much with the Buy feature round though, that fell a long way short.

There is no gamble feature in this game, but there is a Respin option. This is a great little add-on, but it’s not cheap. On the bottom of each reel is the option to respin. The cost of each respin is calculated on the potential outcome of the spin, or the value of a potential win. Clever stuff, but only for those with a healthy pot. The other option is turbo spins, which we advise to leave well alone and enjoy the game.
