The Book of Ancients is the pick of the bunch from the Gamebeat design studio, but that isn’t really going by much as their Book of… series of games is more or less the same game. Graphical differences aside, there is a similarity between games that can’t be overlooked, and depending on which game you play first, that’s the game that you sort of measure all the others by.

There is one defining difference between the two games, other than the graphics, and that is the “Buy Feature” which is available in the Book of Ancients. This temptress of a little feature helps you shortcut your way to the Bonus round. But, that comes at a cost.

The “Buy Feature” is something that we have tried and tested to destruction, and haven’t once managed to get our win to match the cost of buying in. We did manage to get close, but it still worked out at a loss. Obviously, this is a luck factor, and if you manage to bag additional Free spins, then it might be possible to beat the loss, but we never managed to reach that level of play.

Our top tip; would be to avoid the buy feature and just enjoy the game.

The Book of Ancients is an entertaining and enjoyable game with a well-worn theme that works. There are better games out there with the same theme, but this game is a more mellow and relaxed game that for some reason really appeals to my level of play. I liked the graphics and background music too.

There is no safer gambling element to this game. The rest is just a spin-and-win game with a basic autoplay mode that includes a basic “until feature”. Basically, keep spinning until something happens, then a manual restart is needed. Not a bad thing to have on a game.

Prizes in this game are pretty good, but not great, if you manage to trigger the Book scatter symbols, things get a little better. There is no gamble feature in this game, just good old-fashioned reels, and spins with OK graphics.
