The Book of Amduat isn’t a new concept in Book of… games and the theme has been exhaustively covered by every other games provider, yet Boldplay has managed to eke out a difference and add to the game making it an individual version of the tomb-themed setting.
The game animation is well done, and the play concept is well put together. There is a mix of old-style game format with a modern twist that sort of makes the game more casino slot than Book of…, and that works for me. This game is easy enough to follow, but there isn’t enough of a difference from other tomb-based games to make this my go-to game. Until that is, you opt to switch games to the Book of Amduat Scratch. This is activated through the three dots that take you to the Autoplay mode. Select Scratch and the game switches to Scratch Card mode plays for a progressive Scratch Pot Jackpot. Switching back is just as easy.
Back in the slot version, and the build-up to dropping three scatter symbols is fun. The excitement builds and the animation takes over. Not the most generous win ever but dropping £380 of the back of 10 free spins are not to be sniffed at. The Book of Amduat is a positive step in the right direction, and Boldplay has a winner in both this and their scratch version of the same game.
The safer gambling element to this game is good, with everything selected through autospin mode. Once there you have a few options that include Balance increase/decrease, Stop before/after function, and good old-fashioned autospin function of 10 up to 100 spins. This game also has a Turbo mode, which eats your pot like a plague of scarab beetles. Best avoid and enjoy the game at normal speed.
